چکیده
The preservice primary school mathematics teacher needs training that focuses on and its didactics. Research has shown the importance of developing mathematical content knowledge as well adequate didactic knowledge. Teacher education programs must address both to provide an effective teaching-learning process. present research aims assess 194 prospective teachers about fraction word problems faced by students at Primary Education stage, based Mathematics Teachers′ Specialized Knowledge (MTSK) model. By means teachers’ written answers, we explored their identified associated error (one-step multistep) in which a meaning operator. Preservice showed some difficulties when working with this content, were intensified they solved multistep problems. most common founded types is related results show weak prior consequence, it necessary establish preventive actions degrees since insufficient prevents them having proper

Preservice Primary School Teachers’ Elementary Geometry Knowledge
Geometrical notions and properties occur in real-world problems, thus Geometry has an important place in school Mathematics curricula. Primary school curricula lays the foundation of Geometry knowledge, pupils learn Geometry notions and properties by exploring their environment. Thus it is very important that primary school teachers have a good base in elementary Geometry. The aim of this paper...
متن کاملPreservice Elementary Teachers ’ Views of Their Students ’ Prior Knowledge of Science
Pre-service teachers face many challenges as they learn to teach in ways that are different from their own educational experiences. Pre-service teachers often enter teacher education courses with pre-conceptions about teaching and learning that may or may not be consistent with contemporary learning theory. To build on preservice teachers’ prior knowledge, we need to identify the types of views...
متن کاملPreparing Preservice Elementary Teachers to Teach Science Through Computer Models
The purpose of this study was to examine the extent to which preservice elementary teachers were able to construct viable scientific models with a computer-modeling tool, namely Model-It, and design a science lesson with models. The results of the study showed that (a) Model-It, through its scaffolds (i.e., Plan, Build, and Test modes), enabled the majority of preservice teachers to build model...
متن کاملConstruction and Validation of a Questionnaire on Metacognitive Knowledge Needed in Solving Mathematical Word Problems to be Used in Interviews
To provide researchers with an instrument, valid and reliable enough, for measuring students’ metacognitive knowledge needed in solving mathematical word problems, based on the theoretical foundation and previous research, a set of 24 questions at three levels of metacognitive knowledge was constructed. The initial validity of these questions was confirmed by Psychology Professors and high scho...
متن کاملPreservice Teachers' Perceptions of Applets for Solving Mathematical Problems: Need, Difficulties and Functions
This research describes preservice teachers' perceptions of the use of applets in solving mathematical problems. It examines such perceptions regarding the role and functions that applets have in the problem solving context, the difficulties they encounter when using applets in this context and the necessity or need of their use. I attempt to categorize the perceived need in terms of the types ...
